Finchingfield Guildhall
The Finchingfield Guildhall, a striking historic building dating back to the 1470 it was built by the Guild of Holy Trinity to house a Guild of Priests to be a meeting place for local traders and to provide a schoolroom for the boys of the village. Its beautifully preserved timber frame and steep roof make it stand out in the heart of the village. Today, the Guildhall is a popular spot for visitors interested in local history, offering exhibitions and occasional events. Inside, the atmosphere is steeped in tradition, with original features like exposed beams and a charming fireplace, giving you a glimpse into Finchingfield's past. The building’s central location, just off the village green, makes it a must-see while exploring this quintessential English village. Free entry and guided tours available.
