Ian Bull, Garden Manager at RHS Hyde Hall, oversees the maintenance of the Hilltop Garden which contains the roses, herbaceous borders and the drought tolerant plants set in the dry garden. Windmill Open Days

The oldest windmill in Essex , the Grade II-listed post mill is thought to have been built around 1756 and stopped operating in 1890.


The mill stands on a hill overlooking Finchingfield, just a short 2 minute walk from Finchingfield village green. The mill is opened to visitors on selected Sundays throughout the summer months, manned by volunteers.
